Vice Admiral Anil Kumar Chawla, PVSM, AVSM, NM, VSM, ADC is a retired Indian Navy officer, who served as the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief (FOC-in-C) of the Southern Naval Command. He assumed the position on July 30, 2018 and held it until his retirement on November 30, 2021. AK Chawla, was born into a middle-class family in 1968 in Delhi, India. Not much is publicly known about his family background or upbringing, however, it can be assumed that he had a supportive family who encouraged his academic and professional pursuits. Vice Admiral Chawla joined the Indian Navy in 1980 and has had a illustrious career spanning over four decades.
