The venture, which now ranks as the 6th leading online education platform worldwide and 2nd in India, began as a seedling of an idea when Gaurav was a mere 20 years old. Beyond Unacademy, Gaurav is also celebrated as the founder of Flatchat. Born in the vibrant state of Rajasthan on 8 September 1990, Gaurav's early years were illuminated by his father, Pawan Kant Munjal's business acumen. The Chairman, Managing Director, and CEO of Hero MotoCorp, Pawan Kant Munjal instilled in Gaurav an indomitable spirit of entrepreneurship. Young Gaurav always displayed a proactive nature, keenly exploring and learning beyond his academic curriculum.

Gaurav embarked on his higher education journey at St. Xavier’s College, Jaipur. But his thirst for knowledge led him to Mumbai, where he pursued and accomplished his B.Tech degree from the renowned NMIMS University. With a fire of entrepreneurship burning bright within him, Gaurav steered clear of the conventional job route post his studies. In 2010, the foundations of Unacademy were laid, and by 2015, it flourished into a colossal success.
