Chahat Arora (चाहत अरोड़ा)
Chahat Arora is record-breaking swimmer who broke multiple records in breaststroke swimming. She began swimming when she was only 3 years old. Her brother started teaching her, it slowly became her passion. She studies in MCM DAV College, Chandigarh as a Masters of Sociology and is currently training at Panjab University Swimming Coaching Centre.
She had a shoulder problem since 2016 but she didn’t give up. She worked her with the help of her family and physiotherapist and got back on track. Her dream is to represent India at Olympic and Asian Games. She gains her strength and willpower from the love of her parents and her brother.
She got admitted into JSW High Performing Swimming Centre in Bhubaneshwar where she was guided by Coach Sandeep Sejwal. Her idol is Michael Phelps who is also a very renowned athlete. She also gets inspired from Adam Peaty.
She was selected to play SAF games internationally in Guwahati in 2016. She created multiple new national records in 50m breaststroke, 100m breaststroke, 4x50m medley relay and 4x100m medley relay and more. She won a gold medal in 50m breaststroke and a silver medal in 100m breaststroke in South Asian Games 2019. She also won gold medal at Thailand Age Group Swimming Championship. She also broke multiple national records in 36th National Games in Gujarat and won two gold and one silver medal.
