Manohar Lal Khattar (मनोहर लाल खट्टर)
Manohar Lal Khattar is an Indian politician. He was appointed as the 10th Chief Minister of Haryana in 2014 and in 2019, and he’s also a member of the Haryana Legislative Assembly, representing Karnal. He belongs to the Bharatiya Janata Party. He’s also a Parcharak to RSS.
Manohar Lal Khattar was born in the Nindana village of Meham Tehsil in Rohtak (Haryana) on May 5, 1954. His father was Harbans Lal Khattar, who was a farmer. He completed his high school education at Pandit Neki Ram Sharma Government College in Rohtak. He did his graduation at a distance from Delhi University. Since Khattar was a RSS Parcharak, he chose to remain unmarried.
Khattar joined the RSS in 1977 and became a full-time parcharak three years later. He was a parcharak for more than 14 years before joining the BJP in 1994. He was also the chairman of the Haryana Election Campaign Committee during the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections, which led him to become a member of the BJP's National Executive Committee.
In 2014, he was also appointed to represent Karnal Constituency in the Haryana Legislative Assembly. He won by a heavy margin even though his opponents tried to pull him down by calling him an "outsider" because he wasn’t a native of Karnal. He then became the first Chief Minister of Haryana from the BJP. His swearing-in ceremony took place on October 26, 2014. He again became the Chief Minister of Haryana in 2019, defeating JJP’s Dushyant Chautalal. He contributed to Haryana’s development by doing police reforms, e-government, Indian reunification, women’s empowerment, etc. We thank him for his contributions.
