When it comes to Table Tennis, there are very few players who can match Manoj Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award Winner Manika Batra. She is a world-renowned Indian-International Table Tennis Player. She is currently the top-ranked female table tennis player in India and the 44th best table tennis player in the world [as of Nov. 2022]. Manika Batra was born in Delhi on June 15, 1995. Her father was Mr. Girish Batra and mother was Sushma Batra. She also had two elder siblings Anchal and Sahil, both of whom played Table Tennis. She started playing table tennis from a young age. At the mere age of 8, She won state-level Under-8 Tournament. She dropped her college/studies and even a modelling career in favor of Table Tennis. She started training under the guidance of Coach Sandeep Gupta.

Batra victories started in 2011 when she won a silver medal in Under-21 category of Chile Open. She continued to represent India in major sports events including Asian Games and Commonwealth games. She won three medals in 2015 Commonwealth Table Tennis Championships. She again won three gold medals in 2016 South Asian Games. She also qualified for Olympics and represented India there. She also won four medals in 2018 Commonwealth Games. In 2019, she was the player of winning team in Commonwealth Games. Batra became the first Indian paddler to advance to the third round of a singles event at the Olympics when she competed in the women's singles competition at the 2020 Summer Olympics. She also won Lasko 2021 women doubles. In 2022, she settled for silver in WTT Contender Doha and in November 2022, she became the first Indian Female to win bronze at Asian Cup Table Tennis Event.

During her career, she was awarded many times with prestigious awards, including the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award (2020), Arjuna Award (2018), The Breakthrough Star Award by Indian Table Tennis Federation (ITTF).
