Lala Hansraj, also known as Mahatama Hansraj, was an Indian educator and a supporter of Swami Dayanand, the man behind the Arya Samaj movement. He lived from 19 April 1864 until 14 November 1938. On June 1st, 1886, he and Gurudatta Vidhyarthi established the Dayanand Anglo-Vedic Schools System (D.A.V. ), where the first D.A.V. school was established in honour of Dayanand, who had passed away three years previously.
