Kalpana Chawla - The Women who loved to fly

Kalpana Chawla was an American Astronaut living in Karnal district of Haryana in India whose life span was (17 March 1962 – 1 February 2003). She completed his education in Aeronautical Engineering from Punjab Engineering College, India. In 1982, she was sent to America to complete her Master of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1984. She went on to earn a second Masters degree in 1986 and a PhD in aerospace engineering in 1988 from the University of Colorado Boulder. In 1988, she started working with NASA Ames Research Center. She used to research there on some concepts of Computational Fluid Dynamics. Chawla got Commercial Pilot certificates for single and multi-engine aircraft, seaplanes, and gliders, in addition to a Certificated Flight Instructor rating for aeroplanes and gliders. She joined NASA Corps after applying in 1995 and made her first flight in 1997. Kalpana Chawla made 252 orbits of 10.4/6.5 million miles the whole earth in 376 hours on her first journey. After the completion of STS-87 activities, she was assigned the technical post of astronaut office of the space station. In 2001, Kalpana was selected for her second journey, STS-107.

Captain Vikram Batra - Hero Of The Kargil War

Captain Vikram Batra PVC was an Indian Army Officer who sacrificed his life during the Kargil War. He was awarded, the Param Vir Chakra, the highest in Indian Military posthumously. He was killed while fighting Pakistani troops around Area Ledge, Point 4875 in the Kargil District of Former J&K

Captain Vikram Batra was born in Palampur, Himachal Pradesh on 9 September 1974 to Girdhari Lal Batra (Govt. School Principal) and Kamal Kanta Batra (A School Teacher). He had a twin brother and two sisters. He was bright in his studies. He studied in DAV Public School in Palampur and Competed his senior secondary education in Central School, Palampur. He was good at sports such as Table Tennis, Karate, etc. He attended DAV College Chandigarh, to pursue B.Sc. Medical Science.

Screen Legend - Dev Anand

Devanand, the finest actor in Hindi cinema, who dedicated 60 years of his life to Hindi cinema as an actor, writer, director, and producer. He was born on September 26, 1923, in the Punjab region of Gurdaspur. His father, Mr. Pishori Lal Anand, was a Gurdaspur court counsel. Dev Saheb successfully completed his matriculation education in Punjab and was sent to Lahore to further his education, in which he earned a BA degree in English literature. Devanand and his elder brother Chetan Anand launched Navketan Films in 1949. In 1940, he left his hometown and relocated to Mumbai. He started his career in the Military Censor's Office at Churchgate, earning Rs. 65 per month. He obtained valuable expertise in Hindi film while working in Apat with his elder brother Chetan. He got the leading role in Prabhat Films' Hum Ek Hain as a result of his hard effort (1946). Anand was offered a few roles in woman-oriented films as the male lead alongside actress Suraiya in the late 1940s. They collaborated on seven films, including Vidya (1948), Jeet (1949), Sher (1949), Afsar (1950), Neeli (1950), Do Sitare (1951), and Sanam (1951). (1951). All of his flicks were box office successes. Both Anand and Suraiya fell in love while working on films together and considered marriage. Suraiya had received a diamond ring costing Rs 3000 from Anand at the time of the proposal.
